Invisalign® aligners are designed to straighten your teeth discreetly with a series of custom moulded aligners that fit over your teeth. The movement is governed by changing aligners regularly.
Invisalign® Aligners are the “Near invisible” way to straighten your teeth without wearing conventional metal braces. Invisalign® Aligners uses a series of clear, removable custom-made aligners to move your teeth, because you remove your aligners before you eat and drink, there are no food restrictions or problems with flossing or brushing. This technology is also more comfortable, avoiding the mouth abrasions that can be caused by the metal and wires of conventional braces.
Small tooth coloured attachments are often placed on the teeth to aid movement and help with fitting. The teeth may need to be slenderised in a process call Interproximal Reduction (IPR). This allows safe tooth movement without extractions.
At the end of the treatment is important you retain the position of the teeth with fixed or removable retainers or a combination of both.
A simple accurate impression/scan and a bite registration of your teeth can allow us to accurately assess your teeth and plan your case. Invisalign® Aligners uses 3-D computer imaging technology to design the complete treatment plan, from the initial teeth positioning to the desired final positioning. The 3D algorithm is accurate to within the closest 0.1mm so even minor tooth movement is possible.
The first appointment for Invisalign® aligners is your complimentary consultation with one of our team, this usually lasts 30-40 minutes and includes a 3D scan and pictures.
The following appointment is your assessment with the dentist where they will perform a complete assessment and walk you through the 3D scan of your mouth and x-rays, which allows them to give you a better prognosis for your Invisalign® aligners, you will also be given a report and be advised by the dentist on the best treatment plan for your case.
The next appointment is your consultation two in which you will be shown your ClinCheck, which is a video showing the transformation of your teeth throughout the treatment, if you are happy, we go ahead and have your aligners manufactured.
Two weeks after that you will be called in for your fit appointment and your process for your perfect smile is underway.
During the process of Invisalign® aligners your aligners are changed between every 1 to 2 weeks and your teeth will move little by little every week until your teeth have moved into their final position.
The process for Invisalign® aligners takes between 4 and 12 months, this is all depending on how many aligners you will need for you to reach your desired smile.
